New Kindles

Kindle Fire 8.9" 4G LTE Wireless - $499 (available in 32 GB and 64 GB)

Kindle Fire 8.9" - $299 (available in 16 GB and 32 GB)

Kindle Fire HD - $199 (available in 16 GB and 32 GB)

Kindle Fire - $159

As I'm sure most of you heard, Amazon unveiled a few new Kindles this past week.  We're Kindle lovers on this blog so we thought we'd share this information again.

You now have the option of getting a Kindle Fire in HD in 7" and 8.9'' inch models and with 4G wireless.  The Fire HD is faster, has a hi-resolution front facing camera, a sharper display and comes with Dolby digital plus. Even the original Fire has more memory, a longer battery life and has been discounted to $159.  These are just some of the features.  Visit Amazon for a full list of features for each Fire.

Kindle Paperwhite 3G - $179 (available with or without special offers)

Kindle Paperwhite - $119 (available with or without special offers)

Kindle - $69 (available with or without special offers)

Kindle Keyboard 3G - $139 (available with or without special offers in 2 colors)

The one I'm interested in his the Kindle Paperwhite. One of the big reasons I haven't upgraded from by Kindle 2 (which was renamed the Kindle Keyboard) is because with that I get free 3G +wireless.  That is now offered with the Kindle Paperwhite plus it comes with a built in light (which according to Amazon "...illuminates the screen to provide the perfect reading experience in all lighting conditions" ), higher resolution and contrast and an 8 week battery life.

My Kindle, that I love so much, is getting old and the battery won't hold it's charge like it use to so I think I'll be getting myself a new one for Christmas.  I just need to decide on which one.

Kobo just came out with a bunch of new eReaders too. I guess all of the booksellers are getting ready for Xmas!

I have a Kindle Touch, and it drives me absolutely batty. When I'm not using it, it changes books, font size, etc. I guess the "touch" is too sensitive, even with a cover. I have a Nook Color which is touch screen too, and it doesn't do that. I don't get it!

I love the cover of Hunter's Season - he makes those elfish ears look good!

I have a K2 also. It's 2.5 years old and has just started to show signs of battery wear. I pre-ordered the Paperwhite on Thursday, as soon as they came out. I'd been thinking about getting the Touch, so I just decided not to wait any longer. It's my early Xmas present.

Carmel - Your right it's that time of year. I was actually hoping they'd release new Kindles before Xmas so I could get one for myself :-)

Diana - Hmm, I didn't think of that. Is there a way you can change the sensitivity of it? I'll need to factor that into my decision on what I buy.

Redzsm - Just finished my review of it. I think it's the best of Thea's novellas.

JenM - Yay for buying presents for ourselves! I always buy myself the best gifts :-D
