Guest post and giveaway from Katie Reus

Thank you to Stephanie and Athenna for having me here today!

Not too long ago I did an interview and the interviewer asked me what my favorite scene to write in my most recent release was. My most recent release, Primal Possession, is a paranormal romance full of action and hot smexin so I surprised myself when I realized that my favorite scene wasn’t a fight scene (which I love to write!) and it also isn’t a super hot scene (which I also love to write). Instead, my favorite scene is kind of ‘quiet’. There’s a pivotal point in the hero and heroine’s relationship that makes a difference in how they see each other.

Liam takes December on a horse ride and plans this sweet, romantic picnic. This is really out of character for him to do and so much is going on with his pack and the town with a hate group intent on harming them, but he takes the time to basically court her. It’s clear he’s never tried to impress a female before and he’s so nervous. The scene is really sweet and peels back a few layers for both of them. I loved it because they open up to each other and get to see a side to each other that few people do. So even though I love writing a scene where people are kicking ass or taking off their clothes, I love all the in between stuff too because it’s just as important.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! What is your favorite thing about paranormal romance? Leave a comment and be entered to win a copy of Primal Possession (US ONLY), the second release in my Moon Shifter series.

About Primal Possession:

To protect her, he will unleash the beast within…

As his pack’s second-in-command, lupine shifter Liam Armstrong gives orders and takes what he wants—until he meets red-headed, blue-eyed December McIntyre. Liam knows the human beauty is his intended mate the moment he sees her, but December is far too strong-willed to accept his protection.

December, whose brother is the town sheriff, has every reason to mistrust shifters after one killed her youngest sibling. But the forceful and handsome Liam has gotten under her skin in a way she hadn’t thought possible, and the desire she feels for him is almost too much to bear.

When a radical hate group targets all humans known to sympathize with paranormal beings, December is attacked in her bookstore. Reluctantly, she turns to the only one who can help her: Liam. And he is going to take her to places within herself she never knew existed.

I love that paranormal romance gives you the impossible. You get what should be considered scary (like a werewolf/vampire/demon) and see them as sexy and actually envisioning dating one. Paranormal romance is my favorite read next to romantic suspense.

Ooh so the truth comes out! Even though Katie Reus represented Team Stomp during #StompvsRomp she actually secretly prefers to write "quiet" scenes. ;)

Ahahaha! Smexin. Love it. Action scenes are great, you need some of that inbetween the sexy times. But I read paranormals for the wide variety of creatures and end of the world situations. The imagination is endless!

My favorite thing about paranormal romance are the characters. I love all the supernatural beings that are so different and so varied - they're only limited by an author's imagination.

Congratulations on the new release. I can't wait to read this book. I love this series.
I love all books, but am leaning towards the paranormal/urban fantasy lately. I love the endless possibilities in this rich genre.

Is there another book forthcoming (in this series), when will it be coming out.

I love romance in general, but with PNR, you can have all kinds of heroes that wouldn't be possible in a normal romance. I especially love the shifters - so yummy.
