Honor can no longer keep her family safe and fed on her own, she knows she must ask the dangerous leader of the rookeries for help, but can she trust him? Once she meets him it may be herself she cannot trust. This over bearing stubborn man has made her feel things she could never have imagined. This only scares her more and she pushes him away only to draw him in again when she needs help. She will have to figure a way to admit her feelings to him or at least herself, because he has no intentions of ever letting her go.

At first when Blade herd that the frail little woman who moved into his lands was wanted by the Echelons he thought she could be his perfect revenge against them , till he actually set eyes on her. He know at first sight that he had to have this woman and he had no thoughts of ever letting her escape him. This woman did strange things to his control and it scared him but he couldn’t even fathom not having her. Somehow he will have to penetrate the shield she has built around her heart and get her to let him in.

There is the high bread Echelons and those under there rule and then everyone else who is nothing more than street rats to them. Well then that would make Blade king of the street rats. He is the one who got away, the one the Echelons were too scared of to retrieve. They tell stories of the monster who rules the rookeries. But he wields power, integrity, and love all with a bit of attitude, who wouldn't fall in love with him.

Blade is so over whelmed by Honor, she takes all his control away. I love how he deals with her. He helps her and always takes her pride into account and tries to accommodate it. He takes care of those around him. He proves himself a worthy male it just takes a wail before Honor can see it.

Honor is a scientific woman just like her dad. She needs to work out everything in her Brian and fit them into preordained categories. But Blade defies all logic and messes with her brain. He is an equation she can't solve and it drives her mad, so she keeps her distance . She's a little too stubborn for me. She should have given in sooner , I would have. Lol. but she was cute and strong willed just what Blade needs. The story was great. It's only my second venture into Steampunk but it was also a hit! I loved the strange old fashion sense with the old fashion clothing and what not with modern or futuristic elements. The robot drones, medal lungs and arms you could go on.

There is a lot going on in this book, hopefully this is only the beginning for this world. I would love to see a few others get a book and story. Over all the story was amazing and the romance was just as amazing. This one is a definite must add to the ever multiplying TBR list.
