Guest post and giveaway from author Linda Poitevin

We are thrilled to have the always wonderful author Linda Poitevin back with us for her blog tour for her most recent release, Sins of the Son.  Make sure to keep reading after the interview to learn how you can enter to win a copy of the book for yourself.  Now, lets get to Linda's interview!

For those who are new to your series, who is Alexandra, Aramael and Seth?
Alexandra Jarvis is a Toronto homicide detective with a pretty horrific past, a lot of personal baggage, and a really, really hard time believing in angels. Aramael is a Power, an angel of the Sixth Choir, whose sole purpose is to hunt down fallen angels that interfere with humanity. And Seth is the son of the One and her former helpmeet, Lucifer (yes, God is a woman!).

What is their relationship to one another?
Aramael was assigned to protect Alex from a Fallen One he’d been sent to hunt in Sins of the Angels. Without giving away too much to readers who may not have read the book yet, it turned out that Alex was his soulmate. Their awareness of one another interfered with Aramael’s primary task of capturing the Fallen One and Seth was sent to watch over Alex while Aramael completed his hunt. Of course, it’s not quite as easy as that implies… ;)

Can you tell us what they’re up to in Sins of the Son?
Under the terms of an agreement between his parents, Seth is supposed to transition to a mortal state in order to decide humanity’s ultimate fate (continued existence vs. extinction at the hands of Lucifer). When his transition doesn’t go as planned, however, he ends up on Earth with no memory. Alex attempts to help him, but finds herself up against Aramael, who has taken on a less protective and far darker role.

How have your characters evolved since book one?
All of the characters have grown in ways that I haven’t always anticipated. Alex amazes me—and herself, I think—with the depths of strength she possesses. Aramael is a far darker character than I planned him to be, and Seth is—well, let’s just say that Seth still has a few surprises up his sleeve. Or would that be up my sleeve, if I’m writing him…?

What are the Fallen Angels like in your series?
Bitter, angry, cold…not at all sympathetic to the human state of being. They view us as less than nothing and behave accordingly. Their hatred has eaten away at them over thousands of years, leaving them twisted and withered inside—and, at times, on the outside, too.

What is Lucifer’s role in your series?
Lucifer was created as the One’s partner, her companion, her helpmeet. His intense jealousy over her creation of mortals has been the catalyst for war between them and he is determined—utterly and single-mindedly determined—to annihilate every human on the planet.

If the decision was yours, would you like to see your books made into a movie or T.V. series?
If it were up to me, a movie. As much as I love television (okay, I may have a slight addiction!), I think the story would translate beautifully to the big screen. These angels are larger than life, and they deserve an appropriate venue, lol!

What else can we expect to see from you in 2012?
I’m currently working on book 3, Sins of the Righteous, but there’s no publication date set yet…I think readers may have to wait until (gasp!) 2013 for that one. But I’m writing as fast as I can, I promise!

(Huge thanks, Stephanie and Athenna, for hosting me here today! Great questions…I very much enjoyed them. And if readers have anything they’d like to ask, I’ll be happy to answer!)

Your bio states that you have too many pets. I was wondering just how many is too many?

Most angel books end up as PNR and not UF. I'm so curious as to how these characters read. Oh these books are now on my wishlist!

@ilona, I think I actually have to change that bio...for a time we had 3 rabbits, 2 cats, 1 (very large) dog, and a bearded dragon lizard, but one of my DDs moved out and took a cat and a bunny with her. I almost have a normal number of pets now! :)
