Kroner is bleeding out all over the place and Veck is the only one there and the last half hour a big gap in his mind. His only hope to survive is the beautiful Sophia Reilly from internal affairs. But he could never get such a well put together woman like her , especially since even he can't say for sure he didn't kill that man in the forest. God knows he went out there with all intentions of killing him.
Jim must gain Vecks trust somehow and keep Devina from getting her hooks into this one and winning with round.
As always JR Ward rocks. I love the way she writes every page is dripping with sarcasm.
Veck and Reilly are very sexy together. They have a sort of a forbidden lust for each other. Veck is soo cut how he just falls head over heels right away with her and is not afraid to express it to her.
Jim, Adrian and Eddie are great I love them. Even though the love stories are great I think the three angels are what make the series. They have such personality and energy that it takes the spot light sometimes.
It was a large book this time but well worth it. I had a few “OMG!” Throwing the book moments but the whole book over all flew by quickly. It was like I couldn't read it fast enough to see what was going to happen.
Even though The Black Dagger Brotherhood is my favorite series by far, this little spin off is a very enjoyable series. You get all of JR Wards amazing humor, her fascinating characters and an intense story line, it’s well worth the read.

I read this book last week, and thoroughly enjoyed it. But Athenna, about Eddy ... did you see a thing like that happening? I am so wondering what will come next!
I was shocked by the Eddie thing! Like Aurian, I can't wait to see what happens next!
