Guest Post and Giveaway from author Moira Roger

Donna: I don't know about you, Bree, but Halloween would be one of my characters' favorite holidays. It's all about the supernatural, but a cartoonish version of it, which would be a nice change of pace from the almost mundane aspects of the paranormal.

Bree: I think it would be a most excellent chance to have a little fun. Everyone could enjoy it--well, except for a few curmudgeons.

Donna: Alec. Alec is always the curmudgeon. But that wouldn't stop Carmen from poking at him. She'd totally dress up as Little Red Riding Hood--one of those short little costumes with the crinolines. Just to torture him all night.

Bree: Kat and Andrew would be the costume winners every year. No one does over-excited Halloween costumes like a couple of dorks with large budgets.

Bree: Mackenzie from Crux would totally go classic. Any excuse to dress up in elbow-length gloves and a lot of fake diamonds. No creepy crawly monster stuff for her!

Donna: Jackson, on the other hand, will grab at any excuse to put on a vest and gun belt and make Mackenzie drool. (Sorry, Mackenzie.) Also, he likes calling people “pardner”.

Bree: Derek from Crossroads has two great loves... Nicole Peyton, and Jack Bauer. He takes a lot of good natured teasing over his mancrush on this epic TV character, but that won’t stop him from spending a night walking in his hero’s shoes. Hopefully with more beer and fewer terrorist threats, though.

Donna: Nick likes to make fun of herself, especially of the fact that she’s tiny and pocket-sized. So dressing up as Tinker Bell just works for her.

Bree: Alec from Deadlock doesn’t do costumes. Not even a little. Not even for Carmen...unless she makes big eyes at him. Or promises to wear a Little Red Riding Hood outfit. If forced to dress in a costume, Alec would go with something that would mostly involve wearing things already in his closet. You can decide if he had to purchase the hat or the whip.

Donna: Yep, Carmen gets a laugh out of this one. I mean, come on--she sleeps with the Big Bad Wolf! Also, a Little Red Riding Hood costume is rife with possibilities for their very own private afterparty.

Bree: Kat from Cipher takes Halloween seriously. Skimpy costumes and lingerie are for posers and the terminally uncreative. She would have gone with steampunk, since steampunk is the new zombies, but she has had a busy year. Since she only just caught up on the first season of The Walking Dead, she’d go Zombie Prom Queen, all the way.

Donna: Andrew would be chomping at the bit to ham it up a little for Halloween. His motto? Go big or go home, dammit. And it doesn’t get much bigger than an Elvis wig and a gliterry spandex jumpsuit. Cue the music and the hip swivel, baby.

Bree: So that’s what a Southern Arcana Halloween party would look like. So tell us...who’s your favorite fictional character, and what do you think they’d like to dress up as for Halloween?

For more information about Bree, Donna (Moira Rogers) and the wonderful cast of characters in their Southern Arcana series, visit their website or checkout their blog.  We will be picking 3 winners and each will get to pick their choice of 1 Southern Arcana ebook.

Oh man. Picking a fave is going to be hard. I guess I'll go with my fave character at the moment. I'm picking Belladonna Brown from Adrian Phoenix' Hoodoo series. Bells is all about having a good time and checking out hot guys so I'm guessing she'll go with a sexy cop outfit. You know...so she has an excuse to strip search some hotties. ;-)

I don't know about you, but I'm totally read to ask that gunslinger on a date! I can never resist the 'stash!

Let's just say I wouldn't mind seeing Barrons dressed up as rainbow boy just to amuse Mac.

One of my favorite characters is Rose from the Vampire Academy series. I think she could dress up as a Strigoi (evil vampire) just so there's some irony, since she kills them.

Forgot to answer the question in the rafflecopter form. Can I do that here? I think Michelle and her gorgeous bodyguard would dress up like pirates. Sexy and cool outfits, with swords of course.

Bones. He'd dress up like a bloody master vampire! LOL

One of my favorite characters is Eve Dallas from J.D. Robb's In Death series and she is not one to dress up for Halloween. However, her sexy husband, Roarke, could maybe cajole/guilt her into it so maybe. But she'd go as something kickass b/c she's not into frilly at all! :)

Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

I've not read any of your books yet - though I have them on my TBR list - so I can't associate a costume with your characters. I'm reading the 4th Mortal Instruments book by Cassandra Clare currently and I can see Simon in a Where's Waldo costume.
Thanks for the giveaway!

There are too many favorite characters from books, so I'll pick Dr. Temperance Brennan from Bones. And I think she would dress up like Marie Curie, or maybe Einstein. Or more likely just as herself. She so smart it hurts. Thanks for the contest.

Hm.... Anita Blake and i think she'd go as herself because she's that badass and she hates to wear costumes but Nathaniel would dress her as a cat. ;)

I wasn't big into fictional characters when I was a kid, maybe Harriet the Spy cause what she did sounds so intriguing.

This is a tough one, but I think Patricia Briggs's character Mercedes might dress up as a sexy little red riding hood because her mate is a werewolf, or to give him a hard time like she does she might go as a sexy dog catcher for the same reason.

My favorite holiday is halloween, just because it's the one day I can dress anyway I want and get by with it. Believe me when I dress up I go all the way and to a point that most people don't even recognize me until I talk. I have sooooo much fun and you should see my house.

Had to think hard about a fun fictional character to pair with a costume and decided it'd be fun to see Abby from Allison Pang's A Brush of Darkness dressed up like her mermaid portrait self. Not sure she'd like it, but it'd be amusing none-the-less. :)

My favorite character would have to be Angie from Here Kitty Kitty, Magnus Pack. Of course, she would have to dress up like a tigeress to go along with her mate!!

There have been so many great costume suggestions already. I would love to see Mercy dressing up as Little Red Riding Hood with Adam in his wolf form. And someone else suggested clay dress up in a bunny suit, that would be really funny. I think another good one would be Sydney from the Bloodlines and Vampire Academy Series dressed up as a vampire since she hates them so much.
