Logan Ellis has spent over a decade on the harsh streets of New York City. She goes about life with her eyes averted from the crimes that occur around her and only looks for ways to feed her drug addiction. Her life is placed in the hands of a vampire Lord after she witnesses a fight among his kind, and she can't seem to bring herself to really care. Kerestyan Nelek is the Lord of New York City and it's his responsibility to keep humans from finding out about his people's existence. He should kill Logan because of the information he is unable to erase from her memory but he is intrigued by her and the detachment he sees in her eyes. Once her future is decided for her, Logan isn't sure what will be more challenging to confront, her transformation into a new life or the emotions Kerestyan makes her feel.

I found Logan Ellis to be a really great character because she doesn't fit into the typical mold of a heroine. She's a homeless drug addict who takes full responsibility for how her life has turned out and genuinely doesn't care about the world or people around her. If she is to be killed for knowing that vampires exist, well then so be it but don't expect her to beg for mercy. Logan's able to adapt to changing situations and even though she didn't choose her new life, she puts everything into it. I liked that even though she gets clean, in every way, she doesn't really change. She'll still stand toe to toe with immortals so old they're considered ancients and exchange sharp tongued quips with meanest of them.

Kerestyan Nelek is quite the opposite. He's the strong, intelligent, powerful alpha hero who rules his fledglings fairly. At first it was curiosity he felt towards Logan but as he asks questions and listens to her story, he begins to crave the woman he'll do anything to save. Kerestyan accepts Logan for all her faults and will stand by her unconditionally.

As we follow Logan from the gutters of New York City into the dark shadows of the paranormal, we are introduced into a world of vampires, werewolves, dragons, immortal warriors and characters that will stay with you long after you've finished the book. Lord Stefen Nelek is Kerestyan's creator. He's very old and powerful and the decision is his if Logan is welcomed into his blood line or if she dies. He's a truly frightening character but I think I'm more in awe of him than terrified. He commands each scene he's in and even though he could kill you with little more than a thought, I see how he cares for his children (the vampires he created) and I respect that. Odin is what you'd consider the bad boy of Stefan's children (or at least of the children I've met so far). As soon as the first sarcastic comment left his mouth, I knew I was smitten. He's brash and arrogant but loves his brother and will stand up for him against anyone. I really hope to see him in future books.

Eternal Seduction stands out among all the paranormal romance books I've read. There's a love story to it but it felt secondary to Logan and her personal struggles and introduction into a new world. That dark world of mystery, politics, hidden enemies and more, along with interesting characters made this a book a could not put down.

I read this book way back in 2009. I'd just gotten my Kindle and was experimenting with self-pubbed books. It struck me as quite unique at the time. I've been waiting for a sequel ever since. Your review prompted me to check out the author's website and I saw that the second book Eternal Hearts has finally just been released, so I'm off to check it out.

I've read both books and each one just gets better. Once I start, I can't put them down. I can't wait for her next one!
