His powers -- Inhuman
His passion -- Beyond immortal . . .

All her life, Ashlyn Darrow has been tormented by voices from the past. To end the nightmare, she has come to Budapest seeking help from men rumored to have supernatural abilities, not knowing she'll be swept into the arms of Maddox, their most dangerous member -- a man trapp ed in a hell of his own.

Neither can resist the instant hunger than calms their torments . . . and ignites an irresistible passion. But every heated touch and burning kiss will edge them closer to destruction -- and a soul-shattering test of love . . .

-------------------------------------------------------------

Ever since he was cursed by the gods for opening the box and killing Pandora he has lived a half life . Never taking comfort in a women . Generally staying away form the human population in fear that Violence the demon that presides in him will lash out and hurt some one. This is only part of his curse , he is also cursed to die the same death as he gave Pandora every night and his soul drug to hell.

Then he sees a woman approaching there home , thinking she is sent by Hunters as bait he goes out to send her away. The moment he is near her something happens to him. against his better judgment he takes her into the compound . the more time he spend with her the closer he is getting to her even the Demon in him wants to touch and not hurt her like it normally dose. This scares and intrigues Maddox. But the questions still remains is this women who has captured his heart Bait , sent her to destroy him and his friends? What will he do if she is?

Ashlyn has lived a hard life . She can hear voices from the past. She was always different and had trouble dealing with this gift as a child so her parents gave her to the institution. She grew up with out knowing the feel of another s compassion. always alone because the voices were quieter that way. On a mission from the institute Ashlyn finds her self out side of the compound of what the villages say are angles . Then she finds her self face to face with the most handsome yet scary man shes ever met but all she can do is cling to him and never want to let him go, he made all the voices stop. She begs him not to leave her out there . To her surprise he takes her with him into the large compound . She find this man the most intriguing and most inferring man she has ever met yet she cant get enough of him. But she is still being held captive .

This is still a great book reading it a second time only made me love it more. I love the Greek mythology background story it is unique and well put together . I love each character and there unique demon they carry it is a very good story and i love Maddox he is great and Ashlyn is just what he and Violence need. She balances them out if you have not read this series yet i recommend it be pushed to the top of that huge TBR list i know you have.. lol

My Rating:

Here is a couple excerpts from the book i thought you guys would enjoy. If you have read the books you'll enjoy them but i think even if you haven't you will see the humor in them. :) Enjoy!!

"I won't hurt you Ashlyn". The words not yet echoed from the walls- unsaid, but there all the same. Eve more unnerving , the sound of her name on his tongue was decadent, as if he couldn't help but savor it. And desire another taste. "Ashlyn, " he repeated.

Another shiver raked her and she frowned. He shouldn't desire her, and she damn sure shouldn't desire him. "you can't be my Maddox. You just can't"

That intense, fiery something flashed over his face again. " That is twice now you've claimed me as yours." "I-I'm Sorry. " she didn't know what else to say. Maddox had saved her from the voices, for a little while at least. She had watched him die. They were connected. He was hers.

" Thinking about her again caused his body to harden, to ready. Should have taken her when he had the chance. he thought again. Should have penetrated that tight, wet sheath .

"Uh, I'm happy to sit close to you and everything, but I had no idea you would like it so much", Paris muttered.

For the first time in hundreds of years Maddox felt a blush creep into his cheeks. "Its not for you."

"Thank the gods," was his friends reply" - Darkest night , Gena Showalter. Page 231

She has tempted many men… but never found her equal.

Until now.

Though she has lived for centuries, Anya, goddess of anarchy, has never known pleasure. Until Lucien, the incarnation of death—a warrior eternally doomed to take souls to the hereafter. He draws her like no other. And Anya will risk anything to have him.

But when the merciless Lord of the Underworld is ordered by the gods to claim Anya herself, their uncontrollable attraction becomes an anguished pursuit. Now they must defeat the unconquerable forces that control them, before their thirst for one another demands a sacrifice of love beyond imagining.

Lucien the keeper of Death, has made it so he is isolated from humans he has mutilated his face so no female will ever fall for him. but he has found a women , Goddess, not only make him burn but she also makes iffierates him to no end. But he has been chosen by the gods to kill her or his friends will suffer.

Anya is also cursed she can never feel the real touch of a man with out losing her self completely. Since she was locked in the titans prison for hundreds of years she will never allow her self to be imprisoned again even if it is with a man she is crazy for.

Wail the other Lords are out searching for clues on how to find the box to keep them self's from having their Demons riped from there body and killing them. Lucian is battling between wanting to take Anya to bed and throttling her. But there is something else, he has found his demon wants her to and not to hurt her. It longs for her , purrs whens she around, needing her as much as Luicen does.

I like this book , while i like this series allot and i enjoyed this book a second time around . I think Luicen is hot and steamy . Anya is a bit much at times but she ultimately is right for Lucien. He dose not believe he is good enough for some one as beautiful as her.

I totally recommend this series , it is funny steamy, and a great story all around but it may keep you up at night just trying to finish just one more chapter.

I've read these books and loved them. I've read all of the books so far but the last one. I have it but I haven't read it yet. I started it but I haven't finished it yet. I haven't be in a mood to read it yet so times I'll buy a book and it'll take a while before I read it. I just have to be in a mood to read a book or I'll not enjoy it very much.
